- Carry out planned preventive maintenance activities on electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns or equipment failures, diagnosing and repairing faults on both electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
- Perform inspections, tests, and measurements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to troubleshoot and address cross-functional issues when necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement within the engineering department.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices within the engineering field.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Resilient and able to work flexible hours, including unsocial hours and night shifts.
- Possession of a recognised qualification relevant to the role, such as a mechanical or electrical City & Guilds certificate.
- Skilled in both electrical and mechanical trades, preferably with an apprenticeship and indentures.
- Knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.
- Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- PLC Knowledge is desirable
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
