A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 22 year old man living with my mother and sibling in St Athan, I have Autism.Some of my interests include swimming, computer games and going to the cinema.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

My mother is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to provide me with the support I need to participate in activities. This is to help increase my independence and self-esteem by building new relationships through new activities within the community. This also enables my mother to have some assistance and respite.

HOURS OF WORK

Allocation of 12 hours weekly, to be used flexibly.

However, you will start off working 2 hours per week, and hours will gradually increase as we get used to each other.

RATES OF PAY

£13.60 per hour

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

·Taking me out to do my activities

·Participating in some of the activities with me such as swimming.

·Making sure I am safe at all times, always supervising while I am participating in my activities

·Taking me out in your own car for which mileage will be paid.

·Encouraging me to try new things or go to new places.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

·A friendly, outgoing, sporty/lively person, with a sense of humour.

·Someone who is patient and understands how my disability affects me.

·A person who can be proactive in finding new activities and encouraging me to participate in them.

·A person who is reliable and punctual

·A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone's home.

·A car driver/owner who is willing to use their own car which will require business class insurance.

·Attending any relevant training course for the position.
