    Worcester Royal Hospitals Accident & Emergency Department is excited to announce that we are expanding our band 7 Senior sister team to provide 24 hour, 7 day cover to ensure senior support to our ED team, in lieu of moving to a brand new ED next year.

    The successful candidate will join the current band 7 team and will assist with the senior support and direction for Emergency Department. This additional posts will allow us to continue to improve our performance in relation to local and national guidance, as well as supporting quality improvement within the ED for both patients and staff. As detailed within the personal specification the applicant should hold at least 5 years A& E experience with 2 years as band 6 management experience. The post holder will be expected to provide nursing care and expert clinical nursing to people attending the Emergency Department and across other specialties as required. As well identify, implement and manage change effectively within ED to promote improved patient care and practice. They will also provide co-ordinator support, ensuring smooth patient flow through the department and working with our stakeholder. The Senior Sister will act as a role model and be responsible for the development and management of the multidisciplinary team. They will act as advocate for the ED and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to co-ordinate all aspects of patient care in the best interests of the patient and family. Main duties of the job
    • To ensure a high standard of nursing care at all times through the effective management of staff and resources on his/her allocated Ward. Providing effective leadership and to act as a good role model.
    • To act as advocate for their designated area and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to co-ordinate all aspects of patient care in the best interests of the patient and family.
    • To participate in a rota, with the other Band 7 Sisters, to provide cover for the Worcestershire Royal Hospital to ensure a suitably experienced nurse is available at all times to provide clinical expertise and professional advice.
    To ensure effective training and educational programmes are available by liaising with appropriate personnel to meet the training and educational needs of nurses in the clinical area. This post carries continuing responsibility for the management of the Ward, including the deployment and supervision of staff. About us Our purpose is simple - Putting Patients First.
