    Cedar Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading London based NHS Trust with the recruitment of a skilled and experienced Clinical Category Manager to work on an interim basis.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for delivering agreed procurement targets in relation to savings and category strategies
    • Take responsibility for the purchase of goods and/or services, deliver portfolio of high value contracts in complex commodity areas and manage risk.
    • Identify new areas for contracting and work with stakeholders to complete clinical trials and R&D
    • Offer advice on commercial and contractual issues from throughout the procurement process
    • Seek new and innovative ways to achieve cash savings.
    • Provide sound advice on purchasing activities and contract management
    • Work closely with departments across the business to enable clients to produce robust specifications with clear weighting criteria
    • Leading on supplier meetings pre-and post-tender.
    • Look for new business opportunities and continuously improve the quality of service to clients
    • Attend client review meetings and follow up on any issues/actions agreed
    • Contribute to the leadership and management of large procurement projects within the clinical category
    • Research the market to assess risk and trends
    • Manage the criteria for supplier selection
    • Manage the tender and negotiation exercise in line with regulations and SFIs for each client
    • Agree the right SLA agreements and KPIs after contract award stage
    • Develop and apply procurement policies across the function

    Required Experience:

    • You will need to have managed end to end procurements across the clinical spend
    • Experience of working to PCR2015, ideally within the NHS
    • Strong stakeholder management experience is essential
    • Experience of high cost reduction/savings across the clinical category is a must
    • To be considered you will need to have worked in a role at a similar level
