This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our MPD group within NOV, we are looking for the industry's brightest minds to further enhance our successful Managed Pressure Drilling business in the Eastern Hemisphere and we are now recruiting for a MPD Wellsite Supervisor. As part of NOV's Wellsite Services Group within the Wellbore Technologies segment, you will be able to demonstrate not only the technical knowledge required but the ability to manage a MPD operation from start to finish using NOV best practises to achieve your clients' drilling objectives. This role will be based in Aberdeen, serving clients in the Eastern Hemisphere.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provides onsite supervision of the MPD Operation including equipment preparations, data acquisition, log generation and Quality Control (QC), and delivery of the services to the customer.
  • Manage onsite operations safely and efficiently, and lead field personnel to deliver the business objectives in full compliance
  • Leads the effort to interface with the Driller and Company Representative to ensure planned operating parameters are within specification of MPD equipment.
  • Keeping records of all field maintenance and communicate both minor and major repairs/maintenance reports with the MPD Operations Supervisor.
  • Coordination of both equipment and personnel safety, during the rig up and rig down on each well.
  • Ensure compliance, and assist the crew's implementation, of all Q&HSE procedures during the operational project activity.

Qualifications

Essential:


  • Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with experience related to MPD/UBD/PMCD operations on Jack-Up/Semi-Sub/Drillships.
  • Functional knowledge of current flow modelling Software.
  • Ability to interpret process flow diagrams and technical drawings
  • Good Surface and Sub-Surface Understanding of Oil/Gas Field Development. Good understanding of Risk Assessment and Mitigation process.

Desirable:


  • MSc/BSc Degree level in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in drilling HTHP/ERD Wells
  • Familiarity with MPD specific software including Autocad, Drillbench, Drillsoft, Safevision etc.
  • Strong leadership attributes including ability to manage a crew, delegate effectively, communicate with all at the rig site and have the authority to stop operations and resolve any situation through a dedicated management of change process.
