    About us

    Ocean Energy Pathway (OEP) is a not-for-profit organisation on a mission to accelerate the global clean energy transition by unlocking the immense potential of offshore wind power. We do that by delivering programmes in new markets that build effective collaboration, engage and educate key stakeholders, and offer structured technical assistance to support governments, industry, and civil society to fast-track the deployment of sustainable offshore wind projects.

    Role Overview

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, impact-driven organisation playing a pivotal role in the continued growth of offshore wind and the global energy transition. The role is also a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the setting up, management and effective reporting on a global spread of diverse projects across the domains of Politics, Engineering and Civil Society as we scale our organisation to 10 countries.

    You will be responsible for

    1. A portfolio of between 5 and 10 projects at a time, across a number of countries
    2. Setting up projects on the OEP systems, adhering to the programme procedures and file structures
    3. Weekly liaison with contracted in country and regional consultants to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of your project portfolio against project and financial milestones and deliverables
    4. Assist the Programme Director with drafting TORs and work plans, assessing candidates and recruiting consultants to deliver projects
    5. Assist the Programme Director with developing, updating and maintaining Country Plans and assessing projects within them for successful delivery and achievement of desired OSW development, overall OEP strategy and country specific goals

    This role requires you to work flexibility to meet sometimes very tight project and programme deadlines. You must be a self starter and comfortable with prioritising your workload and a degree of self direction some of the time as OEP scales with its lean management team.

    The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and sustainability, even if they haven't worked in the sector before. Some experience of generating tender documentation, RFPs, PQQs etc and consultant selection and interviewing are desirable but not essential.

    Reports to: The role will report into the OEP's Global Programmes Director and will play an important part in setting project priorities and ensuring successful project delivery and the hitting of key milestones. The role holder will work closely with the Measurement Evaluation and Learning lead that is also being actively recruited for at the same time.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Project Management (50%)
    2. Setting up projects on the OEP systems including MS Project, Monday etc and recording projects in the country plans with clear deliverables to demonstrate OEP mission progress.
    3. Arrange and lead regular calls with in country consultants to monitor project progress and flag any early signs of deliverables or cost overruns
    1. RFP and tendering to recruit consultants to project specifications (25%)
    2. Prepare tender documents and create RFPs to be posted
    3. Coordinate tender responses and present options to the Programme Director
    1. Assist the Programme Director with building, updating and maintaining Country Plans (15%)
    1. Assisting the Programme Director with interpretation of the overall OEP strategy and formulating work programmes and projects that help move the dail to achieve the strategy in a deliverable and measurable fashion. (10%)

    About you

    You'll be a skilled project management practitioner with a robust background in project planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination. With a solid foundation in project management methodologies, you excel in optimising processes and ensuring project success within diverse international contexts, preferably with experience managing not for profit and NGO stakeholders and some experience of working with governments or associated bodies.

    Your expertise encompasses comprehensive project planning, scheduling, and risk management, honed through hands-on experience in coordinating projects across different time zones and cultures. Proficient in utilising project management tools, you'll relish streamlining workflows and driving efficient project execution.

    Your experience has equipped you with a keen understanding of multicultural dynamics and the ability to navigate complex global projects seamlessly. You'll be used to working remotely with teams dispersed across various locations, fostering collaboration to achieve project objectives.

    You'll have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the adaptability to respond to changing project requirements enabling you to mitigate risks and ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget. Your commitment to clear and transparent communication facilitates effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders, fostering trust and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

    Experience and Skills

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) preferably in Social or Physical Sciences, Engineering or related field
    • Experience of generating tender documentation, RFPs, PQQs etc
    • International project management experience
    • Project management software experience
    • Stakeholder management skills

    Helpful but not essential:

    • A professional or postgraduate qualification in Project Management
    • Consultant selection and interviewing experience
    • Experience working on projects in the not for profit/NGO space or with governments and associated bodies
