    Albany Beck are hiring for a Data Modeler to work on a long term programme of work with a leading provider of financial market infrastructure, ratings, benchmarks, and analytics to the global capital and commodity markets. Their range of businesses operate across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and commodities.

    We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to join their dynamic team. As a Data Modeler, you will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing data models to support data warehouse initiatives, leveraging your expertise in Snowflake, SQL, data warehouse architecture, ERwin, and ETL processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models for our data warehouse environment, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and translate business needs into data models.
    • Implement best practices for data modeling, including normalization, denormalization, indexing, and partitioning, to optimize query performance and storage efficiency.
    • Utilize your expertise in Snowflake and SQL to implement and optimize data pipelines, transformations, and ETL processes, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data delivery.
    • Work closely with database administrators to ensure proper implementation and maintenance of data models, including schema management, security, and access control.
    • Use ERwin or similar tools to visualize and document data models, metadata, and data lineage, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing across the organization.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Data Modeler or Database Developer, with a strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
    • Proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and optimization.
    • Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar.
    • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in financial services or capital markets industry.
    • Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
    • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools.
