Marks Sattin are working in partnership with an exciting and fast growing FMCG organisation in the Warwick area to recruit a Financial Controller on a full time permanent basis.

The Financial Controller will report to the Board of Director's and will providerobust financial strategy and direction ensuring the very best from the entire finance function.

The position will be a hybrid working role, consisting of three days in the offices and two days from home.


My client is growing significantly through organic growth in sales but also through the launch of new products and services to the marketplace.

My client is seeking an adaptable Financial Controller with the ability to operate in a fast paced environment,ensuring robust internal controls, commercial acumen, financial & strategic planning and leadership.


Day to day responsibilities include:


  • Driving optimal performance across the finance function through the deliver of 'Best Practice' methods and effective leadership
  • Provision of robust financial controls and ensuring risks are elimiated
  • Provision of meaningful commercial insight to aid important decision making across the organisation
  • Leading financial planning activities and managing the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Supporting the Board of Director's with long term strategic planning
  • Building cashflow forecasts for short and mediumterm coverage
  • Production of consolidated monthly management accounts for the Group
  • Coordinating and overseeing the monthend process
  • Liaising with External Auditors and Tax Advisors
  • Ensuring technical accounting issues are understood or researched as they arise
  • Overseeing accounting, reporting and regulatory compliance for all companies within the Group
  • Ensuring tax compliance, including VAT, Corporation Tax and Import / Export taxes
  • Ensuring accounting systems are well maintained or improved where necessary
  • Monitoring staff progress through relevant formal procedures such as probation reviews, 121's, appraisals and other performance reviews
  • Delegating tasks responsibly and encouraging autonomy

To be considered you must:


  • Be a Qualified Accountant
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Be experienced in a similar role where leadership is key
  • Have experience in an FMCG environment, i.e. Retail or Wholesale/Distribution
  • Have experience developing strong processes and controls
  • Be a confident people manager with strong coaching, interpersonal skills and a "can do" attitude
  • Have the ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with Board level Executives
  • Have the ability to effectively translate financial information to nonFinance members
  • Have the ability to operate in a continually changing environment
  • Have excellent IT skills and ERP knowledge
