    Hours:Shift Pattern – 4 nights on & 4 nights off / 38.5 Hours PW

    Overview

    Everest People Solutions are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a food production or FMCG background to join a business based in Coventry. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the factory by addressing breakdowns and implementing scheduled maintenance activities. Additionally, you will spearhead initiatives to enhance operations throughout the facility, including the integration of new equipment and the optimization of hygiene, quality, and performance standards. Your responsibilities will include both reactive and proactive maintenance tasks, executed meticulously across all areas of the factory operations daily.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer

    • Support the smooth operation of the factory by promptly resolving breakdowns and conducting planned maintenance activities.
    • Drive continuous improvements across the site to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Introduce new machinery and equipment to optimize performance while ensuring adherence to hygiene, quality, and safety standards.
    • Execute both reactive and proactive maintenance tasks daily, maintaining the highest standards across the entire factory.
    • Utilise continuous improvement tools and techniques to identify and implement enhancements in operational processes.
    • Demonstrate awareness and application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
    • Ensure compliance with safe systems of working, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit Control, and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
    • Possess qualifications and knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to maintain food safety standards.

    Essential Qualifications for the Maintenance Engineer:

    • Apprentice trained in a related engineering discipline, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
    • NVQ3/ONC/HNC in a related engineering discipline, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.

    Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer:

    • Prior experience in engineering within a food or FMCHG production environment is essential.
    • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
    • Awareness of TPM methodology.
    • Familiarity with safe working practices, including LOTO and PUWER.
    • Knowledge of permit control procedures.
    • Qualifications or understanding of HACCP and GMP standards.
