H1 is an 8 bedded Medical High Care Unit, specialising in the care of critically ill Level 2 patients.Patients admitted to the unit usually require Acute Medical intervention requiring support with Non-Invasive Ventilation resulting from Acute / Chronic Respiratory Failure or Tracheostomy Care/ Gastrointestinal Bleed / Renal Support resulting from either Chronic or Acute Kidney Failure requiring dialysis/ Diabetic Keto-acidosis.
You will assist the specialised nursing team to provide personal care to the patients to ensure a high quality service and make the overall experience for all our patients safe, clean and personal.
You will support with administration and housekeeper duties to include locating patient's notes, filing, ordering specialist equipment, knowing about respiratory and general stock ordering, supplies and stocktaking.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Support Worker with relevant experience to join our team.
You must be able to demonstrate a caring and empathetic approach to caring for patients, and the ability to relate positively to our patients, staff and visitors.
Experience of working in a highly acute environment would be highly desirable as are computer skills the Trust utilises computerised paperless system for most documentation and other administration duties.
You must have a flexible attitude to work, as you will need to be able to participate in a variety of shift patterns to meet the needs of the service.

Main Tasks & Overview of ResponsibilitiesProvide support to nursing staff on admission of patients, to ensure weight taken and recorded. You will assist with ensuring patients nutritional needs are met through assisting in the preparation of meals and beverages. Aid in feeding/drinking as necessary. Support nursing staff by recording and monitoring dietary intake of patients including fluid restriction. Alerting nursing staff of any issues relating to dietary and fluid intake.
Assist patients in gaining access to and in the use of appropriate toilet facilities. Measure and record body waste/fluid balance accurately.
Assist patients in maintaining their personal hygiene, grooming and dressing needs with specific concern for their religious, cultural and personal preference, ensuring privacy and dignity at all times.
Assist patients with their mobility requirements, help move and position appropriately to maximise their physical comfort, utilising equipment as directed by the multi professional team.
Assist in the care of patients pressure areas and prevention of pressure sores, recording and maintaining relevant documentation
