    We are currently seeking a Director, Private Credit Analyst to join the team in London.

    The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation.     The Analyst will undertake detailed fundamental credit and documentary analysis of selected situations, generally loan based with a proportion being bond based. The output of this analysis will be used to help Private Credit in identifying stressed and distressed trading opportunities, analysing and structuring primary facilities, positioning inventory and creating trade-able opportunities for the desk's client base as well as undertaking appropriate diligence for financing trades. The candidate will be required to interact on a daily basis with internal sales teams and external clients to communicate and explain credit situations and structures. They will also need to work on legal documentation in relation to any regulatory / controls / policy frameworks for the Private Credit team Globally.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Generation / protection of P&L through credit risk management.
    - Generation of secondary trading ideas in the stressed and distressed space for client trading and desk positioning through the trading opportunity.
    - Sourcing ideas and trading opportunities through dialogue with clients and advisors.
    - Client engagement on origination opportunities / pursuant distribution opportunities.
    - Client engagement through descriptive credit / legal / structuring risk dialogue.
    - Internal collaboration with CMB, GB, PB and other teams both within MSS and outside the bank.
    - Legal/ Structuring support for Private Credit globally across primary / trades / process management / documentary reviews / structuring.

    Requirements

    Extensive industry experience including a significant portion of time in a trading / asset management / structuring risk based environment.
    - Thorough understanding of financial statements, financial modelling, loan and HY credit, and security documentation.
    - Primary deal, and transaction advisory and execution experience advantageous.
    - Restructuring and refinancing experience across industry and geographic sectors.
    - Proven ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    - Proven ability to understand complex and diverse financial instruments and specifically the documentation process.
    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with very strong analytical skills.

    The location for this role is London.
