Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist - Bristol, United Kingdom - Devon Partnership NHS Trust

    Default job background
    Fixed-Term
    Description

    Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Psychologist with a passion for working with offenders who are traditionally marginalised by both society and pre-existing health and social care services.

This is a Fixed Term Contract opportunity until March 2025 initially.

The post holder will be working within the emerging Enhanced Reconnect (ER) service as part of a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team, which sits within a wider team around the individual (comprised of health and social care, probation, police, and third sector staff).

ER in the South West covers Cornwall to Gloucestershire, and is dedicated to providing a psychology-led service by supporting individuals 6 months pre-release from prison and up to 12 months post-release.

ER aims to support the reintegration of individuals back into community, family, social, education, and work situations via a trauma-informed, formulation-driven, and person-centred approach.

At present, the funding for the service lasts until March 2025. We are one of four pilot sites being rolled out across England, with a view to expand geographically in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.

The team offers hybrid working, with bases in both Exeter and Bristol. A relocation package is available for applicants needing to move into the area.

Bespoke training will be offered to the ER team, which includes, but is not limited to, a range of therapeutic modalities, neurodiversity, and access to the Southwest Leadership Academy.

    Main duties of the job

    The role will involve:

To lead on the continuing development of the service alongside the service manager and the Clinical psychologist for the directorate.

To lead on and participate where appropriate to a therapeutic programme that would involve both 1:1 and group work.

To provide and preserve a culture of safe working practice and communication through a structured staff supervision model including line management, clinical supervision and professional leadership.

Hold a small caseload where you will deliver individual and or group interventions as required.

To provide consultation, advice and clinical supervision to other agencies including Band 7 Mental Health Practitioners within the team.

Overseeing clients intervention, care plans and risk management plans to ensure high quality and effective service is being delivered.
