The Opportunity:


As part of the School Office team, the post-holder will provide administrative support to the Director of Professional Services, Deputy Director of Professional Services, Director of Research and Director of Commercialisation & Industry Engagement, including dealing with diary management, organisation of meetings and seminars, providing administrative support for committees and routine administrative tasks and business processes.

This post is open ended (permanent) and full-time (35 hours per week).

We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.


Your skills and attributes for success:


Essential:


  • Vocational qualification (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus work experience in a relevant role supporting senior management OR School education to standard grade or equivalent plus relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a comparable role supporting senior management, including managing complex diaries.
  • Proven experience of working effectively in a team.
  • Ability to confidently and proactively work independently, to use initiative and prioritise own work.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and cope well under pressure.
  • An appreciation of the need for tact and confidentiality.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to seeking out information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and at ease when dealing with a wide range of stakeholders from toplevel executives to students.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous committee clerking and meeting support experience.
  • Excellent IT skills, an experienced user of Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and SharePoint. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills, particularly digital skills.
