    In this role you'll use your passion for science and your natural curiosity to research the content of your events with scientists on the phone, conduct desk-based research, build event agendas and secure speakers. You'll oversee the launch of your event into the market, at which time you'll become more of a project manager, working with sales, marketing and operational teams to lead your events to success. You'll also contribute to the wider strategy of the business, with plenty of opportunities to take on more responsibilities and accelerate the progression of your career.

We were set up following the death of the CEO's father from a rare form of cancer, and we have a deep desire to improve the lives of patients and the general public. Our social mission is our priority, but we are a for-profit, commercial organisation. Our team culture is extremely important to us.

    At Front Line Genomics, we support people working in healthcare organisations, academia/research and pharmaceutical companies to make better use of genomics, other omics and biodata. We also support technology companies, investors, government officials and patient organisations.

    We have three core products:

    1. Website and related content. The Front Line Genomics website ) (plus newsletters and social channels). Our content, designed to educate, inspire and engage, includes news articles, podcast-style interviews, blogs and other types of content.

    2. Events: The Festival of Genomics & Biodata in London (4,500 attendees) and Boston (2,000+ attendees) ).

    3. Digital products: These include a highly successful line of webinar series and reports.

    We operate close to the centre of genomics in the UK and beyond, partnering with Genomics England, the NHS, Cancer Research UK plus other organisations, to help deliver our social mission. Our commercial partners include large multinationals such as Google, AWS, Illumina, Thermo Fisher Scientific, QIAGEN, plus 100+ boutique life sciences companies.

    The Role/Purpose:

    Front Line Genomics is at a pivotal stage in our development and growth. Following a prolonged period of financial success, we have an exciting opportunity to scale the impact of our social mission and the commercial performance of our business to new heights. To do so, we need ambitious, exciting people to join our production team.

    The different elements of the role are as follows:

    -

    (1) Strategy

    · Contribute to business and events strategy. You will have the opportunity to influence the overall business and events strategy immediately, also helping to develop the strategy for events that you produce.

    · Build strategic partnerships with key individuals and organisations who can help us achieve our objectives (and who we can help achieve theirs).

    (2) Production

    · Research with scientists and others. You will conduct deep, detailed research with scientists working at the leading edge of their field, developing relationships with key contacts. You will gather the required amount of intelligence/information to build your products and document your research notes for other project team members and for future use.

    · Agenda/product building. You will write compelling, detailed agendas/outlines/sessions for conferences, webinars and the Festival that dig deep, resonate with our audience and accurately reflect their priorities.

    · Speaker acquisition. Leveraging the strength of our brands and agendas/outlines you write, you will secure a world-class, diverse speaker line-up, confirming to speak people who will inspire, engage and educate our audience.

    · Speaker management. You will follow a defined process for managing speakers, including inviting and confirming, gathering information and collateral, regular, structured communication and the maintenance of speaker relationships before, during and following each event you produce.

    · Drive financial and social performance. During production, you will take measures to ensure the financial performance is optimized, including the gathering and communication of information that will optimize sales and marketing performance. You will also build products with a clear social objective in mind (i.e., optimize how the products you build contribute to our social mission).

    · Guide successful event delivery. You will be a persuasive communicator, briefing other members of the project team with your findings and rationale, and taking input to refine the product you are building.

    (3) Event operations

    · Support successful event delivery. You will travel to physical events (in the UK and abroad, typically the United States) to support the onsite delivery of both your own, and – on occasion – other team members' events. You will also be directly involved in the delivery of digital events, such as webinars.

    Candidate Profile:

    · Education: A first or 2.1 bachelor's degree in a biological sciences subject.

    · Experience: You must be able to demonstrate a passion for, and love of, science. You should also be able to outline how skills you've picked up during your degree, and any part time work you've undertaken, will be translated to this role. Experience working on scientific events is a major plus.

    · A LOVE of science. You are probably that person who bores family and friends in the pub with news of an exciting scientific breakthrough.

    · Strong organizational skills. You are in control of every element of the projects that you work on and find it relatively easy to stay on track while delivering all of the objectives of the project.

    · Excellent writing and editing skills. You understand the important elements of copywriting and are able to translate these into excellent copy. You also have a keen eye for detail and you are able to constructively edit/proof copy.

    · A love of talking to scientists and medical professionals. You are comfortable and enjoy speaking with people in our target audience, and have a strong capacity to build new, mutually beneficial relationships.

    · Creative skills. You are innovative by nature and enjoy creating new ideas that can be implemented to the betterment of our events.

    · Independent and proactive. You must be a self-starter. You enjoy working as part of a team, but you never wait to be told what to do. You are a positive thinker, and constructive with your criticism, always seeking solutions for any problems you identify.

    · Transparency and directness. You are willing to speak your mind in all situations, including when you need help or are falling behind. You always remain constructive and positive.

    Other relevant info:

    · Holiday. 25 days holiday plus 8 public holidays per year. Your birthday is also gifted to you as an additional day of annual leave upon successful completion of your probationary period.

    · Pension. Contributory group pension scheme upon three months of employment.

    · Remote working. You will work from home with just 1 day per month in London.
