PHP Backend Developer - 1-2 days a week in Leeds (£40k - £50k)


This is an excellent opportunity to join an established, award winning eCommerce development company, work on their own proprietary ecommerce platform, learn
Amazon Lambda and work in a structured Test-Driven Development environment.

THE ROLE:


You will be working on the next version of their eCommerce platform, moving it to a serverless environment using Amazon Lambda, and building end points to be consumed by the frontend, as well as creating and supporting high-performing and complex eCommercestores.


This will entail:

  • Work with QA team to implement appropriate testing and mitigate regression
  • Provide backend development resource to the wider business
  • Build reusable code and libraries to improve efficiency and maintainability

REQUIREMENTS:


Essential:

  • Experience working in backend web development.
  • Good understanding and experience of a PHP MVC
  • Symfony or Laravel (preferably the former)
  • Use of ORMs such as Doctrine (and ideally SQL knowledge)
  • Working regularly with APIs and Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc)
  • Unit Testing

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of payment gateways
  • API platform experience / Building restful API's
  • Familiar with the use of Docker / Compose
