  • Full GMC Registration Additional experiences in adult & paediatric burn care within the last 3 years

    • Desirable

  • Highersurgical qualification equivalent to FRCS(plast) Burn fellowship/observership

    • Clinical Experience
    Essential

  • Comprehensive Clinical Experience in clinical burns surgery and rehabilitation.
  • Dedicated and extensive experience in Plastics Surgery

    • Desirable

  • Experience in the full range of burns associated disorders and clinical care of the same.
  • Demonstrates experience of management of patients

    • Knowledge and Skills
    Essential

  • Ability to work as an effective member of the wider Burns surgery team including commitment to burns Surgery
  • Operative experience in line with requirement of indicative logbook for plastics Surgery

    • Desirable

  • Evidence of developing and maintaining a Multidisciplinary team.

    • Research
    Essential

  • Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research

    • Desirable

  • First / second author contributions to peer reviewed journals with publications in Burns Care.

    • Teaching
    Essential

  • experience of undergraduate teaching and post gradate training
  • Experience of supervising core surgical and specialty trainees or equivalent.

    • Desirable

  • teaching qualification
  • Trainer of a recognised course in burns (eg EMSB/ABLS)
  • ability to teach clinical and operative skills

    • Management
    Essential

  • Evidence of understanding of the role of clinical management
  • ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of specialist service
  • Ability to organise and manage waiting lists and operating lists
  • Ability to manage and lead a surgical firm
  • Evidence of Audit

    • Desirable

  • Management training or qualification
  • Evidence of leadership in the development of clinical services
  • understanding of clinical outpatient priorities, surgical governance network.
