    Job Title: Non-Destructive Structural Investigation Consultant

    Job Summary: My client is seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Structural Investigation Consultant to join their team. You will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments of concrete and masonry structures, ranging from bridges to high-rise buildings. You will have extensive experience in the completion of non-destructive evaluation methods with a strong understanding of data analysis. Your expertise in using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), ultrasonics, eddy current systems, will be essential to collect accurate data on-site. You will have the opportunity to work independently or alongside another consultant, conducting investigations all over the country, sometimes requiring night shifts and periods away from home.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct non-destructive structural investigations using GPR, ultrasonics, eddy current systems,
    2. Undertake on-site data collection while understanding the structure to ensure no vital information is overlooked.
    3. Analyse collected data to extract construction details, condition assessments, and other subsurface information.
    4. Collaborate with clients to determine project requirements and scope.
    5. Create Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for each project.
    6. Organize equipment and site logistics for efficient data collection.
    7. Work on the full project cycle, from client consultations to data analysis and report creation.
    8. Prepare detailed and information-rich reports based on the investigation findings.
    9. Collaborate with the team to continually improve investigation workflows and methodologies.

    Ideal Requirements:

    1. Proven experience in non-destructive structural investigations, particularly in concrete and masonry structures, bridges, tunnels, and high-rises.
    2. Proficiency in using GPR, ultrasonics, eddy current systems, total stations, and GPS equipment. Use of total stations, and GPS equipment would be beneficial. Intrusive works experience not required,
    3. Knowledge of data analysis techniques related to structural assessments and experience in creating technical reports and CAD drawings.
    4. Ability to work independently and in tandem with other consultants when necessary.
    5. Strong communication skills to interact with clients and convey technical information effectively.
    6. Experience in project management, including organising equipment and site logistics.
    7. A valid driving license is required for site visits.
    8. Flexibility to travel for on-site investigations, sometimes requiring night shifts and periods away from home.
    9. Ability to work remotely and efficiently from a home office when not on-site.

    Salary Range: £30,000 to £35,000 (dependent on experience)
