This role has a starting salary of £31,262 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.


We are looking for a full time
Business Support Coordinator to work in this varied and interesting role within the Children, Families & Learning Business Support Team supporting Inclusion and Additional Needs.

Applicants will need to be prepared to travel within Surrey County supporting staff and projects.

About Us
Children, Families and Learning provides a range of highly specialist services to vulnerable children and young people.

Services are delivered directly to children and their families within extensive statutory frameworks and staff working in these areas need specialist knowledge in order to deliver effective services to these high risk and high need groups.


About the Role


You will manage and develop a team of administrators to deliver a high quality and efficient administration service to assist in delivering the overall aim of the service to improve outcomes for children.

Your duties will include coordinating support to the Assistant Directors.


Our admin teams support Social Care and Education staff and this role will be pivotal in developing the business support team to support education specialists.

In the role of
Business Support Coordinator you will have the additional responsibility of guiding more junior staff, ensuring they meet their work goals but also develop within Surrey County Council.

You will support with implementing process improvements to improve the performance of the administration service and increase customer satisfaction. You'll need excellent interpersonal skills along with a high level of written and oral communication skills.

In this role, you will be working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working alongside more junior members of staff and developing them in a professional setting
  • Has experience of overseeing team workloads with strong organisational skills
  • Has high level administrative and analytical skills
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build key relationships
  • Is confident, organised and works proactively
  • Has excellent IT skills and is proficient in using Microsoft Office
