Role purpose and overview
Responsible for sub-editing and publishing Features and Lifestyle articles across The Telegraph, both in digital and in print.

You will ensure our content - both reactive and longer term - is produced to the highest quality for a digital and print audience.

Your production should optimise content across our digital platforms, driving traffic and subscriptions through exemplary copy, headlines and visuals.
Key responsibilities

  • Ensure copy is accurate, well presented and optimised for a digital audience.
  • Sub edit copy to the highest possible standard, always adhering closely to Telegraph style.
  • Make use of the best pictures, video and other multimedia assets when building digital files.
  • Work with SEO to ensure articles perform across search.
  • Where required, transfer to the print production team to assist with editing, revising and flowing in copy, as well writing sparkling captions and headlines.
Essential skills required for the role

  • Experience of subediting and producing stories on digital platforms.
  • Experience of working in production and publishing at regional, trade or national level, ideally within Features, Lifestyle or longreads.
  • Knowledge of how best to present content for digital platforms what makes a great headline and standfirst, how to build valueadding embeds and structure articles to appeal to mobile readers.
  • Experience of working on the production of a daily print section, with knowledge of InDesign and print CMS.
  • Quick, accurate subbing.
  • Able to respond well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
