University of Nottingham International College (UNIC)

£22,500 per annum + benefits


We are looking to appoint a College Services Advisor within our successful College Services team at University of Nottingham International College.

The role will have a strong focus on student experience and progression, college administration, and customer service.


About us


College Services plays a vital role in supporting all non-teaching activities; staff work together to provide relevant advice and support to both staff and students.

Advisors are expected to work across all areas within the College Services team.


The Role


As College Services Advisor, you will be primarily responsible for providing information, advice, guidance, and support to the college's international students.

Your work will cover all aspects of the student life cycle, from induction and registration to assessment and examination to progression to the University of Nottingham.

A positive attitude and a willingness to support international students are needed to succeed in this role.


As a College Services Advisor you will:

  • Provide excellent customer service in a student-facing environment.
  • Deal with student enquiries by providing a flexible, personalised and inclusive approach.
  • Provide operational, building maintenance and financial administration support.
  • Be a key contact point between the college and the University of Nottingham.
  • Assist with developing and organising events for students between the college and the university to aid their progression to their chosen degree.
  • Maintain accurate information on the student management system.
  • Support prearrival, arrivals, registration and welcome events.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of studentfacing content.
  • Support the development and delivery of extracurricular activities.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Support students in relation to wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Assist compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Work with the College team to continuously improve the student experience.
  • Any other duties as required by the College Senior Management Team.
In addition to the above responsibilities, you will support the wider College Services team in the following areas as required:

  • Student Welfare Safeguarding
  • Student progression and data reporting
  • Class and exam timetable administration
  • HR administration
  • College and student finance administration
  • College image standards
  • Event planning and coordination
  • College social media maintenance
  • IT equipment and support
  • Estates management
  • Visa compliance administration

Essential

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service skills.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interest in working in education and in particular international students.
  • Experience of working as part of a team to achieve goals.
  • An ability to work in a busy environment and willingness to work flexibly.
  • Excellent IT skills, including the full Office 365 package and specifically Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and plan ahead.
  • A knowledge of, interest in and sensitivity to different world cultures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • A strong commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in UK education, EFL or the international student sector
  • Proficiency in a second language
  • Experience of working with large scale databases
  • Experience of working with students aged 16 to 18
