    Description

    We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Business practitioner with a proven track record of teaching excellence to join our expanding Academy Improvement Team and become our Lead Practitioner - Business for September 2024. You will help to inspire our committed and supportive team across the academy, modeling and leading the improvement of teaching skills to raise student achievement in all groups and to narrow any gaps in attainment.     Your focus will be on raising attainment in Business by working with other teachers and leaders across the organisation. You will be expected to support colleagues to deliver their timetable to the very highest standards and be open-minded to step in and support when necessary.     As a Lead Practitioner - Business Studies you will play a leading and highly visible role in the enhancement of teaching and learning of the department and the academic success of all students, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and achievement and leading in the monitoring, evaluation and review of standards and provision in the subject area.

    The general expectations of this role are:

  • To collaborate as a member of the Lead Practitioner Team in order to build and realise the shared vision of excellence and high standards for all students.
  • To account for students' performance in line with Academy procedures.
  • To contribute actively towards the formulation of all Academy policies and procedures, ensuring their consistent implementation.
  • To ensure high-quality teaching and learning in the department or across the Academy.
  • To ensure that the subject knowledge of staff in the department is exemplary.
  • To ensure that behaviour for learning in the department is exemplary.
  • To ensure that Schemes of Learning and Independent Work are of a high quality.
  • This is a permanent, full-time position offering Leadership Scale, commensurate with experience.

    Being part of Leigh Academies Trust : As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 20,000 students and employing 3,000 talented staff. Nearly 40% of our academies are judged outstanding overall by Ofsted, versus 15% nationally.
