Our client who leads the way in exterior lighting technology based in Southampton, are looking to expand its production team with an Assembly Operative, to cope with high demand for its products on a temporary to permanent basis.

From street lights for local councils to lighting products for use in nurseries and airports around the world, you will be involved in all aspects of the manufacturing process.

For these Assembly Operative roles the tasks will include:

Producing lighting products to the highest standards, consistently operating the process in line with documented specifications and standard operating procedures, always achieving quality standards
Working closely with the Supervisors and Team Leaders to produce products effectively within given deadlines
Producing products at the required deadline rate
Producing accurate soldering on surface mount boards with various small components with the use of hand and power tools
Following company guidelines and processes to ensure safety in the workplace
When required, give training to other members of staff

As a Assembly Operative you will have the following experience:

Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally within mechanical assembly
Strong manual dexterity
Good communication skills
Hand/power tools experience
Soldering of around a level 2 standard to similar
Ability to absorb information quickly
Basic PC skills
Production Operative experience

Working hours are Monday to Thursdays 08:15am - 5:15pm and Friday's 08:15am - 12:45pm.

The hourly rate for the Assembly Operative role is between £11.50 and £12.00 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly in arrears.
