    This post is a HPB endoscopy interventional & ERCP Nurse coordinator

    You will supervise members of the nursing team ensuring competency-based assessments are completed for all staff allocated to assist with HPB procedures (This would fall on the remit of the training team of the unit rather than the coordinator) .

    The post holder will co-ordinate and organise the inpatient and outpatient referrals for ERCP providing nursing support, information and advice to patients and their families, relatives and carers.

    The post holder will facilitate communication and act as liaison between the referrer, clinicians, ward staff and endoscopy unit staff.

    You must be a dynamic flexible individual with advanced IT, administrative and organizational skills should ideally have a minimum of 2 years experience in endoscopy and have shown a keen interest in developing your clinical skills and knowledge.

    Assess plan and implement programmes of evidenced based care for client
    Incorporate enhanced practice in line with the regulatory framework of the Trust and NMC.
    Ensure that child protection and vulnerable adult legislation is adhered to within own practice and service.

    Provide a visible clinical profile, having both an advisory and clinical input into patient care as directed by the HPB lead, Endoscopy lead and Unit manager.

    Deploy effective communication strategies to ensure that information and knowledge is imparted sensitively according to the needs of patients, staff and students in training.

    Continually review and evaluate own role and clinical practice informing the annual review process with the Matron and MDT
    As required, be an active member of relevant Trust committees and groups contributing to developing/implementing local strategy.
    Participate in the clinical governance process, including adverse incident reporting/investigation and the management of complaints, as

    Collect and collate data as required by the role in order to support internal and external professional and operational bodies.

    To work with medical teams, ward staff and the endoscopy unit to ensure the patient is fully prepared both physically and mentally so that the procedure can take place without delay.

    Monitor/evaluate outcomes of services and care in conjunction with the departmental manager.
    Positively contribute to the development of nursing and healthcare services within areas of responsibility.
