Salary:
£39,748 - £44,166 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)


Hours:
Full time or Part time (minimum 22.5 hours per week)

As part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) develops and exploits frontier research in particle physics, astronomy, nuclear physics and space science through activities at UK universities and its ownnational laboratories, working internationally through a range of long-term collaborative research projects.

STFC also builds and operates many of the UK's largest multi-disciplinary research facilities at our research and innovation campuses.


Our Strategy, Planning and Communications (SPC) Directorate brings together the essential functions that are needed to help shape, communicate and monitor progress against STFC's strategic plans.

Our role is to enable the organisation to determine its strategicdirection and translate this into a coherent set of plans, communicating these across the organisation.


About the role


As a Strategy Manager, you will perform a range of duties related to development and implementation of two key strategic initiatives within STFC, the process for identifying, reviewing and prioritising concepts for research and innovation infrastructuresfor the UKRI Infrastructure Fund and STFC Visions.

STFC Visions aims to identify ground-breaking, early-stage project concepts that have the potential to be developed into ambitious initiatives and research and innovation infrastructures, transforming theresearch and innovation landscape and shaping the future of our economy and society.

About you


You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to see the big picture, adapting strategies and actions to support organisational priorities and add value.

With strong planning and organisational skills, you shouldalso have the ability to prioritise and manage complex and conflicting activities.

It's also important that you have a good understanding of the Research Base, Government and the role of UKRI within the current landscape.
