    There's never been a more exciting time to be part of the nuclear sector. So, if you're keen to excel in your chosen field, this is the place to do it. As the Head of Risk, you will sit over the entirety of risk within NNL from project to enterprise.

    You will be the point of escalation for risk to the Head of BMO, ultimately reaching senior leadership and the executive.

    Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the overall Risk Management Strategy, Framework.
    This is a hybrid role and the location is flexible and can be based at Warrington or Workington.
    Main Responsibilities for Head of Risk:
    Design, build andimplement an organisation risk framework across NNL, for both project and enterprise.

    Implement tools, processes, and procedures to ensure current and key risks are understood and mitigating actions are in place and utilising governance to ensure that mitigation is driven to completion.

    To ensure and report the business is complying with key risk process and policies by producing MI/Dashboards to show progress and maturity.

    Shape, influence and embed a strong proactive risk management culture, based on thematic reviews and identification of areas of weakness in the risk landscape and reduce it, by, driving forward control environment improvements to existing business practices.

    To ensure competence within the business of risk management theory and application by providing tailored training.
    Attend senior management meetings and provide practical insight in relation to risks and controls.

    Contribute to high quality, timely updates to Risk Committees on key themes, trends, and horizon risks to support a range of risk management processes and decision making.

    Create a suite of reports that show multiple data sets for senior leadership.
    Ability to synthesise and analyse large quantities of data to create useful information and concise conclusions.

    Set the strategic direction of the Risk Managers & Practitioners using medias i.e., delivering excellence programmes, OGSMs, development plans, successions plans and communities of practice.

    Develop a Risk Management brand which successfully allows the function to interface and collaborate with other areas of the business.

    Essential Criteria for Head of Risk:
    Certification in Risk Management (CRM)
    International Certificate in Risk Management
    Certificate in Operational Risk Management (IOR)
    Be an experienced Risk professional, with experience in Risk Management in a similarly complex, constantly evolving, regulated environment.
    Excellent written/oral communication, presentation skills and ability to present at senior management level

    Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

    Desirable Criteria for Head of Risk:
    Certification in Risk Management (CRM)
    International Certificate in Risk Management
    Certificate in Operational Risk Management (IOR)
    IRM Policies
    ISO 31000 – Risk Management
    Understanding of regulatory framework and compliance requirements for nuclear industry.

    Experience in making use of available data to make good decisions, and providing subjective insightful views backed by appropriate data.
