Shire Healthcare are currently sourcing a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for one of our specialist clients based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The successful Speech and Language Therapist will support adults with cerebral palsy, communication and sensory impairments, autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, and dyslexia.

This role will cover several sites within a small geographical area.

This is a full-time permanent position.


The role:

  • Managing a complex caseload of adults with speech, language and communication needs
  • Assessing and providing therapeutic interventions to service users
  • Working as part of a transdisciplinary team
  • Ensuring all records are accurate and up to date
  • Supervising support workers, students and junior therapists
  • Holds relevant Degree/Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Dysphagia trained (desirable)
  • Postgraduate experience of providing support to people with a range of complex needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessments
