- Ensuring laboratory equipment repairs are coordinated and carried out in a timely and professional manner
- Using technical knowledge, experience and following defined procedures ensure equipment is calibrated to set standards as required. i.e. pipettes, balances, local exhaust ventilation.
- Complete electronic Permit to Work documentation for management of non-embedded contractors.
- Place orders for necessary parts and servicing, charging to appropriate teams
- Qualification in an electrical/mechanical discipline and/or experience in a similar role/equipment repair
- Good general electrical and mechanical knowledge including the ability to use a multimeter
- Able to work on own initiative unsupervised and as a member of a team
- Good understanding of the requirements of calibration, accuracy and precision
- Skilled at working to fine detail
- Competent in managing and prioritising a diverse workload
- Good communication skills developed in a customer-facing service role
- Ability to document and follow a safe system of work
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs; e.g. Excel, Outlook and Word
