Our newly formed Small and Medium Business team will support businesses with between1 to 249 employees. That could be anything from a sole trader through to a small contact centre.

We're already the market leader for small and medium businesses in the UK and we have a big opportunity for Business to be even better for its customers.

We've got big growth and transformation ambitions for this segment and in this role, you will play a key role in forming this new combined unit and working with the leadership team to continue to drive for growth.


You'll be a part of an exciting transformation of the channel and routes to market, improving the customer and colleague experience as well as delivering significant returns for BT Business.


As a key member of the SMB Channel Management and Demand team, you'll have the unique opportunity of shaping our Channel Management function and take real ownership of defining how our channels interact with, and are enabled by, the wider organisation.

Significant stakeholder engagement will play a key part.


It's an exciting period of growth for SMB, and this role will be critical to establish and drive brilliant practice for managing channel performance, maximising performance opportunities, and ensuring we grow efficiently.


What you'll be doing

Developing Channel Strategy: Analysing data to offer insights into sales channel performance and suggesting enhancement strategies.

Setting Commercial Targets:Supplying data and insights to Channel Managers for the formulation of sales goals and predictions.

Channel Performance Insight: Constructing reports and dashboards to oversee vital sales performance indicators, including those essential for comprehending the sales pipeline. Providing analyses to channel managers, sales teams, and colleagues in commercial roles.

Market Understanding:Acquiring and leveraging knowledge regarding industry best practices, market dynamics, and competitive endeavors to proactively pinpoint sales channel possibilities and facilitate targeting decisions.

Collaboration Across Functions: Cooperating with internal units like Channel Improvement and Marketing, influencing the approach to change, refining briefings, validating assumptions, and ensuring inputs are aptly suited to their purposes.

Data Analysis:Recognising opportunities to streamline and enhance the caliber of data accessible to sales personnel.

Managing Stakeholders: Employing influence to align the potentially differing requirements of stakeholders, thus proposing actions and securing agreement.


What we would like to see on your CV

  • Experience of working within a trading environment advantageous (e.g. commercial, propositions, marketing, or sales management).
  • Delivered projects or change successfully in situations where multiple stakeholders are involved.
  • Experience of collaborating with and influencing stakeholders.
  • Delivered KPIs in situations that relied on the actions of others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Tableau and Salesforce experience would be advantageous.
