    Finance Director – Retail Fast Growth Start-up

    The Role

    We are looking for a Finance Director to join our team and manage and grow our finance operations The Finance Director will be responsible for driving the metrics, processes, and forecasting to support our growth and decision making, ultimately heavily impacting the strategic direction of the company, and ensuring its financial success.

    This role will lead the finance and accounting functions, ensuring that the quality and accuracy of financial reporting are maintained to our company and investor standards and in accordance with applicable accounting standards. You will be a strategic partner across functions to empower understanding of scenarios and drive key decisions, and measure progress against goals and budgets.

    As Finance Director you will participate in strategic planning initiatives and provide necessary insights between those considered initiatives and the financial implications to the business. You'll build and maintain fantastic relationships with our investors and the broader management team, overseeing the development and delivery of financial and KPI reports.

    You will actively assess and evaluate financial performance regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans. Create financial and decision-making models to develop meaningful insights and actionable recommendations to help drive business decisions - and then help execute on them

    You can deliver clear board reporting that highlights drivers of forecast variances, deeper business insight, and future risks and opportunities. Effectively interface with all levels of the organisation to share financial data and updates on goals on a regular basis. Directly supporting both the private equity owners and the CEO, this will be a hands-on leadership role to achieve successful growth.

    About You

    You thrive in a start-up culture or you're ready to make the move to an exciting rapidly accelerating business.

    The ideal candidate will have a solid background working as a Finance Executive within the retail / consumer e-commerce or digital brand space within an early-stage brand and / or beauty / fashion industry experience.

    This person must have a strong accounting background (Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and be willing to get involved in a hands-on leadership role, maintaining reliable controls to ensure company-wide growth. You'll have a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude and be comfortable engaging at all levels of the business.

    The perfect candidate will be Analytical, data-driven, and highly confident, you'll need to be experienced at preparing and presenting reports for investors so excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly present financial information to all levels of management.

    The fundamentals

    Salary: £100k – 150k gross per annum

    All the equipment needed to do your role.

    33 days annual leave (pro rata)

    Hybrid working (WFH / 1-2 office days per month)
