Description
Verify and record all patients details (including waiting list entries) on the patient administration systems.Maintain all patient details up to date on the patient management systems in order that information is available for theatre lists, audit purposes and any other data that may be required.
Carry out all necessary procedures at the time of a patients assessment/admission to ensure that documentation is completed in a timely manner, prior to patients admission.
Handle queries, visitors and telephone enquiries in a helpful, courteous and efficient manner.Make outpatient, clinical and assessment appointments as necessary. Enter details of patients on operating lists and update waiting list entries. Ensure all documentation is filed correctly in patient notes in accordance with health record guide lines. To maintain ongoing liaison with the daily Department Co-ordinators.
Be aware of stationery stock levels within the unit and inform the Assistant Admin Manager when stock levels become low.
Be responsible for keeping reception, waiting room and other public areas tidy and to make sure that the department is secure at the end of the day.
