  • The Federation of Fairfield and Colneis is looking for a competent, reliable and enthusiastic Sports Coach who is able to plan and coach PE across the primary school age range, from Nursery to Year 6.

    This will include the teaching of class lessons throughout the week, supporting the development of PE teaching in all year groups, gym trail interventions, 5 lunch time and afterschool clubs, leading and taking teams to sports events and competitions and administration time.

    Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching curriculum PE across the school
  • Team teaching with class teachers to upskill them in PE delivery
  • Running lunchtime and after school sports clubs
  • Delivering targeted interventions (such as gym trail)
  • Training squad teams for competitions.
  • You will need to be able to deliver a wide variety of games and types of physical exercise and help the PE Coordinator manage / participate in school sports events such as sports days and inter-school tournaments where appropriate.

    You will need:

  • knowledge of physical fitness
  • have experience of coaching sports to children in a school setting
  • good communication skills with a variety of age groups
  • be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • be able to manage class discipline effectively
  • be able to plan for progression of pupil games and PE skills.

    The post:

  • contracts are issued across the Federation of Fairfield and Colneis so staff appointed to either of the schools may be required on a temporary or permanent basis, to carry out part or all of their duties at either or both schools.
