An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a graduate management trainee at the West Midlands Pension Fund
The Fund is one of the UK's largest pension funds providing, from its 'state of the art' new building at i9 in Wolverhampton, local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands.
The Fund manages and administers the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently has c.£20 billion in assets under management.
We are now seeking a highly talented graduate to join the Fund on a two-year graduate scheme within our Investment Team.
This will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to develop a career within the West Midlands Pension Fund whilst undertaking a relevant qualification as part of your programme.
Responsibilities include:
- To support and assist with investigative analysis and monitoring of investment arrangements across the WMPF portfolios/investments including responsible investment issues.
- Contribute to and help develop the Fund's responsible investment and climate change strategy.
- To assist with identifying factors which have a significant impact on portfolios/investments, both beneficial and detrimental. Feeding into recommendations to improve performance and/or reduce risk.
- Analysing and reporting of investment returns against performance objectives and benchmarks.
- To assist with the oversight of and management of the Fund's investment managers including LGPS Central.
- To support the wider Investment Team by providing statistical information regarding the performance of the Fund.
Our working arrangements
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style.
Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance.
Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location.Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.
Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
