- Develop, shape and articulate the Marine claims value proposition to clients, retail partners, colleagues, and carriers.
- Build & utilise relationships with key internal & external stakeholders.
- Active involvement in new business opportunities, preparation of tenders, participation in new business pitches.
- Work with inhouse teams to prepare marine claims marketing materials.
- Own, manage, review and supervise claims, with adherence to claims procedures and guidelines.
- Work alongside & support the Marine Advocate.
- Ownership / responsibility for the distribution of the teams' accounts / workloads.
- Utilise experience and skillset in taking a proactive & collaborative approach to problem solving and finding solutions.
- For major clients, lead the claims relationship, including regular meetings, delivery of claims reports etc.
- Provide feedback to claims / placing teams on policy clauses and availability of coverage.
- Be experienced in Hull, Ports & Terminals, War, Builders Risks, Yachts, P&I and be the technical referral point.
- Be familiar with market systems and able to engage with & utilise these to transact claims.
- Professional qualifications (e.g. ACII, FCII, Solicitor) and/or evidence of significant continuing professional development throughout career.
- Experience of management and handling of complex and/or high value Marine claims.
- Significant experience within the insurance industry and an in-depth understanding of insurance law and practice.
- Experience of engaging with clients and prospects.
