The Opportunity Salary**:
£30,296 to £33,024 per annum.


Hours:
Full-time, 37 hours per week.


Location:
Any of our hub offices across West Sussex, i.e. Worthing, Horsham, Crawley and Chichester, with hybrid working opportunities.

As a Financial Assessment Officer you will provide a financial assessment service and welfare benefit advice to adult social care clients in receipt of chargeable services


This will include:

  • Gathering financial information and undertaking financial assessments to determine individual contributions
  • Providing a multichannel service over the telephone; online; by post and visiting people in their homes to provide support and professional advice on assessments and benefits
  • Helping complete forms and follow up benefit claims to ensure entitlements are realised
  • Liaising across our different teams as well as with external agencies to provide an efficient and effective customerfocussed service
The job frequently involves working with people at a time in their life where sensitivity and empathy are required.


What are we looking for?

  • You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to advise customers and members of the public on potentially complex information.
  • You will be able to exercise sensitivity and empathy when working with and advising members of the public on issues which could be sensitive or difficult.
  • You will be able to effectively manage your workload and manage priorities to deliver a highquality financial assessments and welfare benefits service.
  • You will be comfortable responding independently to unanticipated problems or situations, such as the need to present information in a different way to enable a client with a sensory impairment or other disability to understand.
  • You will be proactive with a cando attitude, as well as being a good team player, keen and able to work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners to achieve outcomes within a complex operating environment.
