Position:


The Junior Designer works with the wider Creative & Design teams to ensure the vision and creative ambition of the company is achieved in all visual content across the JO Group.

The Junior Designer does this by producing innovative, on brand, creative design content for various departments within the business.

Job responsibilities as our Junior Designer will include:

  • Work closely with and supporting the design team, taking designs and artwork from conception through to completion. Making sure you have a clear understanding of project requirements and concepts.
  • Explore creative concepts and share back with the team
  • Join creative meetings and contribute to the creative process
  • Picture Desk management
- look after and maintaining our large image library

  • Produce final design solutions (like logos, banners, interfaces)
  • Pitch creative ideas
  • Use feedback from other designers to improve
  • Store all work created in a safe and orderly fashion for future use and accessibility.
  • Create digital and print artwork, assets and templates for various projects across the business.

This will include working with the following teams:

  • Restaurants menu updates, campaign designs & concepts and design support
  • Product development supporting on commercial presentations and pitches
  • Digital designing assets for web and CRM
  • Commercial working quickly and reactively to put commercial presentations together.
  • Social Media original and fun creative content for all social platforms
  • PR & Marketing

Requirements:


  • Experience with design software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc)
  • Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
  • Teamwork skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Time management and multitasking abilities
  • Creativity skills and problemsolving aptitude
  • Graduate in Design or a related field would be beneficial
To be successful in the role you also need to be:

  • Creative, forward thinking and innovative
  • Confident to question briefs and challenge the teams that they work with to ensure that we are driving the creativity of the different projects that they are working on in an original and creative way
  • Highly flexible and able to adapt to a demanding, changing schedule
