Position:

As Kitchen Porter you'll be an essential member of our team, and the backbone of our set up.

You will be responsible for providing great back of house support to the Cookery School kitchen team by ensuring that deliveries and used equipment is all dealt with quickly and efficiently as well as helping with some basic food prep.

You'll be part of an epic team working closely with the Teaching team supporting the day to day our cookery school.


We're a small team of 4 Teaching Chefs - you'll spend each day working closely with the team, reporting into the Senior Teaching Chef.


The key aspects of the role include:

  • Help the Teaching Chef's set up and clean down their classes
  • Ensure all relevant basic COSHH, food hygiene, personal hygiene, and health & safety regulations are always adhered to and complete the relevant paperwork
  • Basic understanding of a plate and pot wash service area
  • Understanding of assigned task standards set out by the teaching team and company procedures
  • To maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and upkeep of equipment
  • To ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties are carried ensuring the company cleaning guide is followed as instructed by senior chefs

How you'll do it:

  • Represent the company's high standards of personal presentation and behaviour at all times during a shift
  • Demonstrate efficient time keeping, presentation and workflow
  • To contribute to the building of the team and efficient team spirit as well as having an active interest in employees' welfare, safety and development
  • You have a thorough understanding of and adhere to Jamie's policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, food safety and COSHH
