The job itself
East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Supply Service is looking to recruit primary and secondary supply teachers for supply work to schools based within the East Riding of Yorkshire Council area. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of schools within a given area stipulated by you.
We are a none-profit service and unlike most agencies we do not charge for payroll or top slice the fee you receive; however, we do ask supply workers' to pay an annual registration fee of £72.
Successful candidates will be covering both SEN and Mainstream day to day, short term and long-term placements supporting children with their education across a variety of Key Stages. This is a great chance to gain more experience and/or fit flexibly around your personal circumstances.
Candidates will have qualified teacher status and must have had recent relevant experience of working within an UK educational establishment teaching the National Curriculum within a classroom environment.
Ideally you should have access to transport and therefore be able to be available to a number of schools, but if you can only access your local school, or only have availability on certain days, you should not be discouraged from applying.
If you have the necessary skills and qualifications, further you believe you have what it takes to succeed as a primary supply teacher and the availability to commit to working on a supply basis then please apply. We will be interviewing as and when applications arrive so if you meet the essential criteria you will be contacted to arrange a suitable date and time. Currently interviews are being held over Microsoft Teams.
Shortlisted applicants will be subject to Safer Recruitment checks.
You must provide a full record of employment from leaving compulsory education. Please leave no unexplained gaps – include periods of unemployment, study, voluntary work, bringing up a family, part time work or multiple employments. It is especially important that reasons for leaving are given fully.
An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for all supply work. If you do not already have a valid DBS that is for "Child Workforce" only, this can be organised for a fee of £53. They can take any time between 2 and 8 weeks to process.
