This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer to work for an innovative global manufacturing business. This role will see you working in a capacity managing highly automated production lines for this successful established facility.

The position of Automation Engineer is a newly created role with the main purpose of supporting manufacturing functions with technology led automation projects which will involve new automation capital projects with the aim of improving production efficiency

o Develop and improve new and existing computerised manufacturing systems technology incorporating PLC controls; industrial comms; data management systems integration, Cobots, MES and Industry 4.

o Project manage semi-automatic and automatic assembly and test programmes
o Maintain detailed documentation and backups of systems, configurations, and procedures.
o Support maintenance team with high level fault finding of equipment to ensue availability to ensure continuous production.
o Perform FAT and on site commissioning working with third party suppliers

Applications are sought from experienced Industrial Automation Engineers, Control Systems Engineers or MES Engineers who would relish the opportunity to join a leading global manufacturer in the exciting new appointment.

Industrial Control Systems/ Automation/ Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Mechatronics or Computer Science
o Experience of industrial controlled automation processes in a fast paced environment, ideally manufacturing but possible automated logistics facilities or similar
o Experience working with PLCs (Siemens ideally), HMIs, SCADA, Industrial Serial Data Comms, Cobots etc.

o Able to write high level software code:
C, SQL and VB script
o Understanding of design and configuration of IP networks
o Ability to manage multiple projects for conception or upgrading current equipment and systems
