Survey Engineer - United Kingdom - Wifinity Group

    Default job background
    Description

    About us:
Wifinity was founded in 2007 to solve a problem—our armed forces were struggling with reliable connectivity. While living in barracks, often in remote locations, ordering a landline and booking in an engineer just wasn't an option.

And that problem isn't exclusive to the military, either. Students living in University accommodation, families visiting holiday resorts, or living in shared accommodation and retirement communities. Conventional home broadband doesn't always work for them. Wifinity is different. We offer the same benefits as traditional broadband, such as super-fast speeds, WiFi, and secure and private networks, but none of the downsides. We even offer Pay As You Go and flexible contracts, so customers only pay for what they need without hefty penalties or long contract terms. We take the complexity out of connectivity. In this role you will be working directly with solution architects to survey sites and formulate appropriate designs, to maintain a design led business approach to maximise new business sales and existing performance improvements. You will have the chance to work on current and new Wifinity sites and contribute to improvement planning. The Opportunity:
Joining our presales and engineering team you will be responsible for conducting surveys and gathering onsite data to formulate into appropriate network solutions. You will be responsible for representing your findings and any associated costings. On occasion, your work will include requirements gathering on behalf of the senior wireless engineers, solutions architects and other areas of the business when required. You will work independently and with members of the wider team to provide valuable onsite knowledge that can be used to produce designed solutions. You will work on both new Wifinity opportunities and upgrades to existing deployments. Your day-to-day role will consist of the following responsibilities, you may be required to carry out further responsibilities at the company's discretion.
    • Independently planning access and arranging schedules to attend required site surveys
    • Leading onsite site surveys and be able to plan and execute clear approach strategies

    • Assessing and applying good physical installation standards to upgrades and new deployment designs.
    • Producing active and passive site survey reports with clear explanation of key results
    • Discussing and reviewing design and cost outputs with senior engineering staff
    • Performing site hardware audits
    • Building good onsite relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication

    About you:
You will have the ability to work proactively on tasks and understand the full scope of a problem and work to a solution without the need for continuous direction. You will be able to apply design principles to different situations and justify reasoning behind those conclusions.
