- To work closely with the commercial, sales, and operational teams, to deliver effective designs and installed solutions for customers to tight deadlines.
- To follow the NPD process and ensure design projects are delivered on time, liaising with the Production team to ensure NPD is Designed For Manufacture.
- To use interpersonal skills to work as an effective member of the team whilst being clearly focused on achieving planned deadlines.
- To demonstrate a clear knowledge of the design process and use problem solving skills to best effect.
- To follow the structured company quality procedure.
- A BSc/BEng degree related to Product Design / Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferable.
- A minimum of 5 years lighting industry experience.
- Good experience in using 3D design packages (Solidworks experience is preferred)
- An understanding of Lighting Design (Relux experience is preferred).
- Must be an excellent face to face communicator.
- Telephone communication skills of a high standard.
- One of the keys to success is to develop professional relationships with decision makers and so the ability to 'connect' with people and build networks should come naturally.
