    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Work closely with the editor of Lexology PRO to oversee and ensure successful delivery of the Lexology PRO editorial content strategy for news, features, long-form guides, and interviews. Ensure all content is interesting, unique and satisfying to in-house counsel and compliance professionals.


    • Write complex and high-value content, demonstrating specialist knowledge for in-house legal and compliance teams.


    • Edit stories written by reporters and content writers. Vet other reporters' copy and polish it (spot the angle that's been missed or otherwise add missing 'x factor'). Ensure content is accurate prior to publication.


    • Oversee and ensure successful delivery of specific projects – specifically long-form guides, interviews, and quarterly series.


    • Assist in the organisation of meetings, conference travel etc under the direction of the editor.


    • Collaborate with other editorial teams and with other teams across our company e.g. production, product dev, events and marketing to ensure successful delivery of projects.


    • Deputise for editor, responding to queries when s/he is away.


    • Agree and hit all internal deadlines. Manage workflow and process e.g. daily news and features, quarterly series, and long-form content.


    • Develop a personal profile of contacts within the in-house and compliance audience and client base. Be known internally and externally as a face of the brand and as a recognised and trusted ambassador.


    • Identify and solve day-to-day problems that have a team-wide impact. Successfully resolve complaints and escalate larger complaints or problems, including all potential legal issues, to a senior level.


    • Oversee senior reporters and content writers, with the view to one day line manage.


    • Drive up the quality of content across Lexology PRO by providing feedback on stories to reporters and ensuring content is well reported, accurate, meet deadlines and conform to our house style.


    • Work collaboratively as part of a broader editorial team and with teams across the business e.g. production.


    • Attend and moderate key title events and webinars, digitally, locally and globally, representing the Lexology PRO brand.

    SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE


    • Educated to degree-level in journalism, law, or other related discipline


    • 3-5 years of experience in a journalism role or similar


    • An interest in writing about regulatory compliance and related topics, such as ESG, data protection, anti-corruption and bribery, competition and antitrust, and culture and ethics.


    • Editing experience is desirable


    • Excellent communication and language skills and storytelling ability


    • High level of organisation, time management and attention to detail


    • Ability to track and monitor rapidly changing legal and regulatory developments


    • Experience producing compelling and insightful analysis, including long-form content


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
