The Apprentice Engineer role
We offer apprenticeships across the UK in a range of levels and disciplines. Our apprenticeships offer structured development, providing the perfect launch pad for your career.

The Apprenticeship Standard
This is a level 6 apprenticeship, which means that on its completion you will have both 5 years of experience and BSc (Hons) degree

Civil engineer (degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

Your profile
At Sir Robert McAlpine typically, we look for the below:

Have a passion for problem solving
Be interested in construction, engineering and the latest technology
Work experience (desirable)

The Apprenticeship course entry requirements are as follows;

GCSE:
For all applicants, Grade C/4 or above in English Language or equivalent.

Please note the University does not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificates in Adult Numeracy and Literacy as suitable alternatives to GCSEs.

EDEXCEL (BTEC)

Diploma:

To include Merit in one of the following units: Further Mathematics for Technicians; Further Engineering Mathematics; Further Maths for Construction and the Built Environment or Further Mathematics for Construction.

Baccalaureate IB:
To include a minimum grade of 5 in higher level Mathematics.
