    Hours: 37 per week

  • Role will be a mix of working from home and being based in our modern Head office in Bournemouth 2-3 days each week.
  • Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Billing and Credit Control experience, preferably at a Team Leadership / Supervisory level, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience in dealing with customers on the phone.
  • Previous experience of working in a demanding role.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems.
  • Main role and responsibilities of a Billing Team Leader include:

  • Acting as a first point of contact to the Billings team as their direct report.
  • Managing and leading the functions of the current billing team to include overseeing half yearly service charge, ground rent and parking, storage billing cycles and monthly billing of meals, personal care, domestic assistance and other charges.
  • Also, overseeing direct debit mandates, managing the annual collections and billings timetable in accordance with their lease.
  • Working with the support of the Operational Finance Manager to develop the Billing team, to maximise their potential including motivating the team to achieve organisational goals.
  • Ensuring all colleagues within the Billing team are trained and confident in their daily applications.
  • Holding regular weekly team meetings and monthly one-to-ones and conduct annual performance/development reviews for the team members.
  • Working with the Operational Finance Manager to come up with relevant objectives aligned with those of the wider MS Group.
  • Assisting with interviewing candidates for roles within the department, including filtering through CV's.
  • Onboarding and training new colleagues within the Billing department – scheduling accordingly and providing sufficient and consistent support throughout.
  • Managing the annual Billing timetable to ensure that all key tasks are adequately covered.
  • Contributing to discussions on process improvements within the Billing cycle.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for both internal and external audit, ensuring compliance and implementing any audit points within the required timescale.
  • Answering phone queries.
  • Ensuring that queries from both homeowners and internal customers are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Escalating any risks and opportunities to the Billing and Cash Manager.
  • Supporting the wider Management Services team.
  • Working alongside other members of the team, ensuring best practice.
  • Willingness to liaise and learn across department tasks (specifically within the Credit Control and Cash teams), to ensure full coverage of duties in the wider team at all times.
  • Attend and host meetings as and when applicable.
  • Skills and Experience required for a Billing Team Leader:

  • AAT qualified (or working towards) would be preferable.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and professional mannerism.
  • Maintains a positive and 'can do' approach.
  • Flexible approach to working as required by business demands.
  • Goal focused with planning/organisational and delegation skills.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Able to rapidly develop good working relationships, and work across organisational boundaries.
  • Operates with an approach of continuous improvement.
