WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Join our community.


The unit is responsible for the management of key financial crime risk areas such as transaction monitoring, client screening, payment screening, KYC/CDD, ABC, escalations, trade finance, regulatory reporting, internal risk assessments and FC governance.


This includes supporting the business in onboarding new business with the appropriate controls in place to facilitate the business activity if not possible, having clear guidelines, processes, and procedures for responsible business activity.


The difference you'll make.

  • Ensuring that appropriate approvals or escalations are completed from 1st or 2nd line of defence teams in line with processes and procedures
  • Conducting detailed assessment on KYC files, considering the customer profile to identify risks, trends, and potential suspicious activity
  • Raising internal suspicious transaction/activity reports directly with the SARU (the Suspicious Activity Reporting Unit)
  • Using Transaction Monitoring SME knowledge to assist and advise with design or rules, annual reviews of procedures and calibration exercises
  • Identifying gaps and providing training to Level 1 analysts to upskill teams

What you'll bring.

  • Strong financial crime compliance SME and experience in Transaction Monitoring and Advisory
  • Strong working knowledge of the global legislative and regulatory framework for FC (Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption)

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • ACAMs or ICA qualification in Financial Crime Compliance (Diploma level or higher)
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Risk Framework and must have a Risk mindset to identify and evaluate risks across Global Banking and Markets businesses
  • Experience of working in the Financial Services industry with knowledge of wholesale banking products and services.
  • Ability to work in a team with their FC peers and provide guidance and support as an SME

This is a full-time permanent role based in Santander London branch, Triton Square.
