WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Background:

Hyundai Capital UK Ltd (HCUK) is a joint venture company established by Santander Consumer UK and Hyundai Capital Services Korea in 2012.

It operates under the Hyundai Finance, Kia Finance and Genesis Finance brands, providing funding solutions for both Retailers and Consumers.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Job Purpose:

Reporting to HCUK's Commercial Director, the purpose of the Sales Director position is to lead the organisation's Sales function in both retail and fleet across one of its customer-facing brands, Hyundai/Kia Finance.


Key Accountabilities:


  • General strategic
Based on the organisation's strategic priorities and overall business plan for each specific OEM, develop and document a comprehensive and coherent forward-thinking sales strategy for HCUK, utilising all business channels

Further develop the strategy for existing sales channels such as Contract Hire alongside scoping, defining, developing and launching new sales channels such as Subscription and Product Bundling through digital routes to market


  • Planning and budgetary control

Lead the development of the annual sales activity, based on the sales strategy, outlining timings and high-level deliverables across the OEM platform.

Propose and gain approval for the annual budget and assist in implementing campaigns and programmes within it. Ensure deliverables are in line with the Sales Functions budget through ongoing monitoring of overall costs. Coordinate with other HCUK departments, such as Marketing / Digital, on the business development requirements ensuring the relevant costs associated are submitted


  • Technical knowledge

Act as the lead point of reference for Sales Team, Franchise Board & Dealer network with regard to technical expertise, including product, regulatory, taxation and industry trends/context.

In depth knowledge of sales channels and Dealer incentive programs, as well as a solid understanding of the campaign delivery cycle and car finance products.

Ensure knowledge is up to date in all aspects of the business and completing all regulatory tests including SAF on an annual basis.

To include all matters relating to FCA and dealer specific; sales process, TCF, compliance related issues and renewals


  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the appropriate Directors / senior management at both OEM level as well as the Joint Venture partners, Santander Consumer UK (SCUK) and Hyundai Capital Services Korea Engage with all stakeholders to assist with developing strategic priorities as and when defined

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the appropriate owners / Directors / senior management at all dealer partners. Assist the team in developing key relationships at dealer senior level and take a leading role in influencing decision makers


  • People Management
Support, coach and encourage the team to engage with their equivalent Stakeholders in OEM, dealers and SCUK to assist with developing new opportunities, operational insight and oversight and aligning future business ventures

Reporting directly to the Sales Director, work closely with the Brand Manager to establish and evolve the daily interfaces and working practices between the OEM, SCUK and HCUK

Work closely with HR to develop a talent strategy that plans for the future and gives your team the opportunity to grow and flourish

Take a keen interest in personal development for your people


  • Communication and Reporting

To provide clear and comprehensive communication through all levels of the business to ensure the interests of the Sales teams are aligned to strategy and business objectives.

Take remedial action where performance gaps are identified

Develop and maintain a robust and engaging communication strategy to internal and external stakeholders that focuses on customer loyalty and a first-class experience

Facilitate the accurate and up to date sales performance to enable the commercial opportunities of the business. Provide analysis, recommendation and insight to the Senior Management Team on the sales function activities


  • Insight and continuous improvement
Provide proactive feedback and industry/ground level opinion to the OEM in order to help shape the future business opportunities

Embrace the digital world to capitalise on the changing market and consumer dynamics

Ensure continuous focus on renewals, creating a culture within the team that provides a clear plan and direction for this key priority


  • Risk and Compliance

In line with the company's risk and compliance statement of responsibility and objectives, identify and assess risks, incidents and breaches.

Identify opportunities and provide suggestions within area of influence and promote awareness across your team. Ensure related actions are progressed within agreed timescales
