Kemple View is situated in the beautiful Ribble Valley. It provides low secure and rehabilitation and recovery services to 90 male patients.

We strive to provide high quality care to all of our patients and received a rating of Outstanding in all five areas by the CQC in August 2019.

Our treatments are recovery focused and provides by an expereinced multidisciplinary team.

We offer a range of specific theraputic programs and a range of occupational therapy activities both hospital and community based.

The role provides a great opportunity for a highly experienced Registered Nurse to advance his/her career in developing further clinical skills, while working with a highly motivated and dynamic team of Consultant Psychiatrists, Advanced Practitioners, and other multidisciplinary team members.

There is opportunity and expectation to join a weekly medical meeting/ teaching and participate in quality improvement and clinical governance activities.

The Role of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner includes but is not limited to:

  • Assessment of admissions and contribution to care planning
  • Deliver physical health care, conduct relevant investigations and treatments and respond to emergencies
  • Prescribe medication within their competencies
  • On call cover and cross cover of other APs
  • Good record keeping including preparation of reports (discharge summaries, CPA reports, referrals)
  • Daily emergency medical rota, seclusion and enhanced care reviews
  • Prioritise preventative healthcare to improve outcome
  • Participate in quality improvement activities including teaching
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification (RMN) and successful completion of Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Nurse prescriber, or working toward achieving this
  • Experience in physical health or general nursing would be an advantage
  • To be a team player and responsive to service needs
  • To be selfaware, seeking support and advice when required
  • Good listening and rapport building ability
  • To be able to organise and prioritise own time
The post-holder will participate in first on-call medical rota of 1 in 6. There is a consultant on-call for support.
