Our Healthy Communities Team heads up the important projects and outreach activities that have a hugely positive impact in our local communities. To achieve this we are recruiting an innovative Healthy Communities Manager to lead the Service at The Stour Centre. The job is highly rewarding and varied and plays a crucial part in our Organisation.

    The Healthy CommunitiesManager should have experience within the field, managing teams, projects and successful partnerships and they will have a commitment to improving the health & wellbeing of local people.

    The Healthy Communities Manager will be the point of contact for all sites, partners and groups to develop a diverse Healthy Communities offering. If you are interested in the job you would lead on the Local Development Plan to increase opportunities for people to get more active, improve their wellbeing and motivation. You would work with local teams and networks to maximise collaborative opportunities to develop even more programmes for local communities.

    We are looking for someone who is highly organised, self-motivated and able to work with a wide range of people and groups. As this is a high-profile role all the work is evidenced and the impact of our programmes is widely known and recognised. Importantly you will be responsible for attracting external funding to the contract and have experience of financial accountability. Someone who is able to be a proactive members of the Senior Management team and act as the Duty Manager when required.

    Hours: 37 hours a week, Monday to Sunday (Rota basis)

    Requirements

  • At least 6 months experience within a sports development based role
  • Proven experience with leading on key sport development and community programmes.
  • Experience of programme management, within budgets and leading on service level agreements
  • An awareness of the roles of Sports Partnerships, National Governing Body initiatives, the voluntary sector and Local Authorities.
  • Maximise income opportunities with new initiatives
  • Management of the after school and swim lesson programme
  • Managing, shaping and implementation of the Healthy Communities plan and programme, as well as increasing participation
  • Good computer skills and understanding
  • Excellent communication skills, able to think on your feet.
  • Team orientated approach, able to work across organisation boundaries and demonstrate interest and be supportive of the work of staff
  • Mobility to travel across the Contract sites.

    Salary: up to £28,800 per annum
