Role:
IT Field Engineer (Desktop Support)


Location:
Based from home in the Midlands with travel as far as Doncaster & Heathrow on occasion


Salary:
To £33k + £4.8k Car Allowance + Expenses + Significant Benefits Package & Training


Hours: 9-5 Mon-Fri including travel time. (No on-call or O/T required)


Are you an experienced IT Field Engineer or skilled 2nd Line Support Engineer that is happy to travel on a daily basis? Our client is a large MSP and this role supports one of their major clients across all their sites which are mainly based around the Midlands.


Project involvement:
You will have the opportunity to get involved in projects.

Currently they are in the middle of a PC/Desktop/Laptop refresh programme, following that there will be the following projects:


  • Cyber essentials
  • Network (using old technology launched POC for SD Wan with ANS)
  • Mobile and fixed line telephony (alternative telephony migration
  • Microsoft Azure migration
  • O365 adoption / SharePoint migration
  • Cyber audit to move to ISO2700
  • Print centralisation (managed technology using Toshiba using papercut)
  • IT adoption of ITIL (access to eLearning tool foundation 4 root)

Responsibilities:


  • End user hardware support
  • Infrastructure support servers and networks
  • PC and Laptop imaging
  • Incident resolution and Service Request delivery second line support in line with customer processes and SLAs
  • Desktop support
  • VC Support
  • Printer support
  • Installations, move and changes
  • Implementing changes in line with customer CAB process
  • Assisting with sitebased project delivery activities
  • Building relationships between IT and business teams

Skills:


  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize issues on a casebycase basis
  • Project Management Skills (following process)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working in an ITIL based Service Desk
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows based technologies
  • Hardware platforms including Lenovo & HP laptops & Cisco phones.
  • Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Azure, Defender, Intune, SCCM and Intune
  • Outstanding troubleshooting skills in WAN/LAN/Desktop situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
  • Experience working with diverse teams
