    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity has emerged within the councils Children and Young People's Service for the role of SEND Employment Support Job Coach. As we continue to develop our Supported Internship provision, you will play a key part in providing and supporting our young people through these opportunities as part of an exciting new pilot.

    This role will be hybrid working in partnership with education providers, young people and employer stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:

    You will:

  • Provide appropriate pre-work/training and in-work/training support for young people 16-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Work with Host businesses, employers and education providers and young adults to deliver supported internship opportunities.
  • Conduct regular reviews and implement SMART action plans for the young people.
  • Supporting the young people to achieve paid employment outcomes.
  • What You'll Need:

  • You will need prior experience of working with people with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions.
  • You will have experience of assessing the development of young people with a learning difficulty/disability in education and/or employment.
  • You will have good communication skills, using a variety of appropriate media.
  • You will need excellent IT Skills, including the use of MS Office word, outlook, and excel.
