    Job Title: Procurement Project Manager

    Location: Scotland

    Working Setup: Hybrid

    Salary: Up to £54,000 PA

    Burman Recruitment are partnering with an esteemed University based in Scotland looking to add a Procurement Project Manager to their Strategic Procurement Team.

    Procurement at the University is experiencing a significant transformation. To achieve this ambitious goal, they are seeking individuals who are proactive, innovative, and driven to effect positive change, who question conventional practices, thrive in diverse and dynamic settings, and are passionate about driving meaningful transformation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Engage with key stakeholders in educational institutions and professional service departments to identify procurement priorities and ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery. This includes managing time-sensitive programs/projects and one-time acquisitions of equipment, services, and works.
    • Provide expert advice and market insights to facilitate routine purchases, execute term contracts for optimal value, ethical sourcing, and resilient supply chains.
    • Manage supplier performance through KPIs, driving service enhancements and cost efficiencies while nurturing crucial relationships with main clients. Mentor junior team members, contribute to personal and team development, and aid in succession planning.
    • Collaborate with Operational Procurement to maintain accuracy in the University's Oracle ERP system ('People and Money') and ensure streamlined, compliant procurement processes.
    • Analyse expenditure records to identify savings opportunities, consolidate business with preferred suppliers, and cultivate strategic partnerships for innovation and mutual benefits.
    • Contribute to annual commodity plans aligned with the University's Strategic Procurement Strategy and Vision 2030, reflecting its values and purpose.
    • Represent the category or senior management team on internal and external platforms to enhance the University's reputation and interests.

    The Successful Candidate MUST have

    • Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
    • Experience managing strategic projects
    • Strong communication & stakeholder management skills

    Higher Education experience is desirable
